DIY Cake Decorating on a Budget

Ok, as promised here is a round up of a sampling of our favorite cake DIY’s!!  We love a big fancy custom cake, but when budget or time gets the best of us…we go to plan B.  DIY Cake Decorating on a Budget.  No baking here, ok sometimes, but most of the time these cakes are a quick call to the bakery at Target or Walmart for a PLAIN CAKE and the rest is up to us!!

Here we requested: double layer yellow cake, smoothed iced, smooth bead with chocolate

What we added: twix bars, rock candy pieces, a printable sign and a flame cookie

What we added: this was a box refrigerated cookie dough with white icing and assorted candies to make your own cookie pizza

Here we requested: double layer 8″ yellow cake, smooth bead with white icing, no bead

What we added: printable bunting and numbers

Here we requested: double layer 5″ yellow cake, smooth bead with white icing, and a 12″  yellow cake with chocolate icing

What we added: Mint Chocolate chips
